It's a shame that the Montreal Expos don't exist anymore (in terms of no longer playing in Montreal). This franchise has had one of the most colorful collection of players (also a very colorful uniform) in the history of baseball. But since they play in a town that loved it's hockey....some of those went unnoticed. The biggest shame of it all is that the Expos always had a solid team from year to year. They rarely experienced a losing season and their farm system was always loaded with talent that they begin to give away in the late 90's. Viewing this montage will give you a idea of the talent that came through that organization over a 35 year period (1969-2004). You will be shocked.

"We are family, We are family".

That is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think about the Pirates and success in the same sentence. But the Pirates have one of the most colorful histories in baseball. They do have five World Series titles to their name and their collection of great players is endless. Roberto Clemente is the star of this lineup...of course. Barry Bonds almost made this lineup but like I said...the Pirates have a very talented past.

The Padres have only been around since 1969 so their history is very limited. Other than Tony Gywnn and Dave Winfield...most of these names are unrecognizable. From what I read...Nate Colbert was a very underrated power hitter and Garry Templeton was penalized for being labeled the guy that was traded for Ozzie Smith in the early 1980's. He was a solid player also. But it's all about Tony Gwynn..baby! He is the San Diego Padres.

Before winning their World Series title in 2008...the Phillies had only Series title in their history (1980). I mean that is as bad as the Cubs. And like the Cubs...they have had some serious sluggers that have adorned their lineup over the last 100 years. Dick Allen might be the most underappreciated member of this lineup. When you view this montage and see who is in it...that is saying something.

All-Time Batting Order For The Houston Astros

The Astros spent 35 years of their history in the Astrodome which was a pitcher's paradise so you won't see any power in this lineup until the Bagwell-Caminiti days when they left the Dome for the more cozier Minute Maid Park. Nevertheless, this is a very underrated lineup. The best pure hitter in this batting order is Jose Cruz Sr. I had a habit of imitating his batting stance on the school playgounds back in the day. I would have love to see what Cruz and Cedendo could do at Minute Park. Lance Berkman almost made this lineup. In two or three time...he might replace somebody. I give history the nod over the present.

All-Time Batting Order For The Arizona DiamondBacks

Like their twin cousins from the Sunshine State (Rays)...the D-Backs have a limited history but they do a World Series Championship to their portfolio. This lineup does have it's moments. Pretty much this whole lineup (except Conor Jackson) played for the 2001 World Champions. Remember...this franchise is only 11 years old so players like Jackson and Upton is going to have a lot to say in the future of the D-Backs.

I have one question. How can a franchise that is as loaded with a glorious collection of players not win a World Series in 101 years? Beats me. The Cubs should hire a archaeologist to check underneath the soil of Wrigley Field to detect for a burial ground because this is one solid batting order. Gee, if I was the manager os a lineup like this...I could win a World Series.

All-Time Batting Order For Colorado Rockies

Before they started to do something to the baseballs at Coors Field to keep them from flying around like wiffle balls that had rocket fuel in them. The Colorado Rockies all-time lineup could have been nominated to play on a team representing the planet of Neptune. I know most of those numbers were produced during the steroid era but with the altitude during the mid 1990's and those sluggers they had in those Rockies lineups...it was Nintendo city. The Rockies actually fielded some solid teams during that time period and they made the playoffs as a wildcard in 1995. When they played at home...they were fun to watch.

Actual fact: The Florida Marlins have won two World Series. Yes...it's true. This montage should bring back some fond memories for the diehard Marlins supporters. Note: If the Marlins played in the American League.... Hanley Ramirez would be the DH. Perhaps he should have been in the lineup anyway. But Alex Gonzalez played on a World Championship team so I gave him the nod for the time being.

All-Time Batting Order For The Milwaukee Brewers

The history of the Milwaukee Brewers is rooted in the American League even though they're currently in the National League so I included a DH in their all-time lineup.
To the exception of Geoff Jenkins..every player in this lineup played on the 1982 team that made the World Series(Harvey's Wallbangers). Since I am lifelong Cardinals fan and the Cards had to face this bunch in that World Series...I was scared to death. But my Cards prevailed. I don't know how but they pulled it out. As you will see in this montage...the Brew Crew have some sluggers. Very underrated lineup.

This lineup contains my all-time favorite player. Who else? Jackie Robinson! With his sacrifices...he helped make this game what it is today...minus the steroids. Do you know that Tommy Davis once drove in 150 runs in one year? That's what you call a 'RBI' man.

This lineup is composed of players that are scrappy and they just outhustled people. Defense is the name of the game with this fantasy lineup. Darryl Strawberry would be the only run-producer in this batting order. David Wright almost made this lineup but I put Howard Johnson at third base for the time being. But David is obviously gaining ground.

All-Time Batting Order For The Atlanta (Boston and Milwaukee) Braves.

This is a very underrated lineup. Of course...Mr. Aaron is the straw that stirs the drink in this batting order but there are other superstars in this lineup that can mashed the ball. I watched some of these cats on the SuperStation WTBS when they used to broadcast of all of the Braves games (and I mean all of them). Can you imagine this lineup in the old "Launching Pad"?

All-Time Batting Order For The Cincinnati Reds.

Since I was born and raised in Kentucky...I grew up watching these the Reds (and the Cardinals) on TV. I don't remember the two years they won the World Series ('75 and '76) but I remember the great players. Johnny Bench was my favorite because he was the host of the TV show, The Baseball Bunch. Joe Morgan has since taken his place as my current favorite for his 20 years as a analyst for ESPN's baseball coverage. This is a powerful lineup. Power, speed and defense is the rule of the day for this legendary batting order. They earned the moniker, "Big Red Machine".

I'm sure this montage will stimulate some heated debate among devoted Redbird fans. Certain players like Curt Flood, Yadier Molina and Willie McGee were left out due to the fact that there are only nine players in a batting order.
