The Minnesota Twins heyday was in the 1980's with their two World Series rings but the majority of their legendary stars play in the 1960's when they also had solid teams. Some considered Rod Carew the greatest pure hitter of all time (pound per pound). He hit over .380 one year. Yeah...that is pretty pure hitting. You also have the late great Kirby Puckett whose time (career and life) came too soon. This is nice solid lineup.

It's a shame that the Montreal Expos don't exist anymore (in terms of no longer playing in Montreal). This franchise has had one of the most colorful collection of players (also a very colorful uniform) in the history of baseball. But since they play in a town that loved it's hockey....some of those went unnoticed. The biggest shame of it all is that the Expos always had a solid team from year to year. They rarely experienced a losing season and their farm system was always loaded with talent that they begin to give away in the late 90's. Viewing this montage will give you a idea of the talent that came through that organization over a 35 year period (1969-2004). You will be shocked.

Typical American League lineup. A whole lot of offense with a little bit of defense. Lou Whitaker and Alan Trammell was a pretty good double combination along with their offense. Hank Greenberg was a straight-up slugger who smash the ball with the best of them. This is a very underrated lineup offensively. This lineup could even score in the spacious Comerica Park.

That is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think about the Pirates and success in the same sentence. But the Pirates have one of the most colorful histories in baseball. Barry Bonds almost made this lineup but like I said...the Pirates have a very talented past.

The Padres have only been around since 1969 so their history is very limited. Other than Tony Gywnn and Dave Winfield...most of these names are unrecognizable. From what I read...Nate Colbert was a very underrated power hitter and Garry Templeton was penalized for being labeled the guy that was traded for Ozzie Smith in the early 1980's. He was a solid player also. But it's all about Tony Gwynn..baby! He is the San Diego Padres.

Aaaah...the distant step-sister to the Yankees. Yeah...right! If you put the all-time lineup of the Red Sox right beside the all-time lineup of the Yankees...the Red Sox might have a better lineup. As a matter of fact...this might be the best all-time lineup in the history of baseball. This is a very, very, very underrated lineup. David Ortiz might get some votes over Mo Vaughn but I think Vaughn in his prime was a slightly better player and I mean very slightly. Nonetheless...scary lineup.

Before winning their World Series title in 2008...the Phillies had only Series title in their history (1980). I mean that is as bad as the Cubs. And like the Cubs...they have had some serious sluggers that have adorned their lineup over the last 100 years. Dick Allen might be the most underappreciated member of this lineup. When you view this montage and see who is in it...that is saying something.

Very solid lineup. Solid defensively and offensively. This lineup is represented in every decade just about. (even going back to the St. Louis Browns days). George Sisler to Cal Ripken Jr. The Orioles has a overall winning tradition that nobody wants to talk about. Especially with their recent struggles...this montage brings back memories.

The Astros spent 35 years of their history in the Astrodome which was a pitcher's paradise so you won't see any power in this lineup until the Bagwell-Caminiti days when they left the Dome for the more cozier Minute Maid Park. Nevertheless, this is a very underrated lineup. The best pure hitter in this batting order is Jose Cruz Sr. I had a habit of imitating his batting stance on the school playgounds back in the day. I would have love to see what Cruz and Cedendo could do at Minute Park. Lance Berkman almost made this lineup. In two or three time...he might replace somebody. I give history the nod over the present.

Question: Name the last major league team from L.A. to win a World Series? Yep..the Angels. There are a couple of players in the all-time batting order that was on that 2002 team. However...most of the lineup played durung the late 1970's to mid-80's. Those were some solid teams and they should've gotten that ring well before 2002. You may have never heard of some of these players but there are on here for a reason. They were pretty good.

Like their twin cousins from the Sunshine State (Rays)...the D-Backs have a limited history but they do a World Series Championship to their portfolio. This lineup does have it's moments. Pretty much this whole lineup (except Conor Jackson) played for the 2001 World Champions. Remember...this franchise is only 11 years old so players like Jackson and Upton is going to have a lot to say in the future of the D-Backs.

This is one mean lineup. Kenny Lofton and Andre Thornton could've made this lineup but I had to make for all the sluggers that decorate the history of the Indians. They should've won at least one World Series ring in the 1990's. Plus...I couldn't leave out Larry Doby. And Manny Ramirez may have been at his finest during this time period which is scary.

Before they started to do something to the baseballs at Coors Field to keep them from flying around like wiffle balls that had rocket fuel in them. The Colorado Rockies all-time lineup could have been nominated to play on a team representing the planet of Neptune. I know most of those numbers were produced during the steroid era but with the altitude during the mid 1990's and those sluggers they had in those Rockies lineups...it was Nintendo city. The Rockies actually fielded some solid teams during that time period and they made the playoffs as a wildcard in 1995. When they played at home...they were fun to watch.

The Southsiders have always been overshadowed by their Northside rivals (Cubs) but this lineup proves that the legendary White Sox lineup should not back down from nobody.
